The Valley Light Opera,Incorprated, is a community theatre group based in Amherst drawing participants from all of the Pioneer Valley and beyond. We produce one high-quality light opera per year in early November, presented in 5 performances at the Amherst Regional High School auditorium. Most of our productions are Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. We have been active continuously for 30 years, have a current dues-paying membership of about 400, and involve approximately 250 volunteers each year in putting on our major production. We have our annual meeting each year in late February or early March, and usually put on a small production at that time.
