PERFORMANCES When Rona Leventhal tells stories she creates a dynamic “story space” that fills the room with images that will last far beyond the show! For 24 years Rona has gained repute as an exuberant & dynamic Performer, bringing with her a cornucopia of clear and authentic characters. Dramatic, engaging, humorous & participatory, she weaves multi-cultural & original tales & songs, effectively imparting a message in a captivating & entertaining fashion. Family/Kid Shows (varies Themes - see website) Storytelling is "Living Literacy" (c)........the original literacy, providing a vehicle to develop "The Imagination Muscle" (c). It gives kids the opportunity to have a positive and fun experience with language and learning, leading to increased motivation. All from a few spoken words and gestures! It is also an antidote to today's fast-paced and pre-fabricated images. We need alternatives to this tech-produced phenomenon today more than ever! Dept. of Education), Family Literacy Nights, parent workshops and her ANNUAL SUMMER STORYTELLING INSTITUTE for adults (see web site for details). As a Teaching Artist in the schools Rona infuses improvisational theatre/movement & team building into her storytelling programs, as well as offering separate programs in improv. She brings the opportunity for in-depth study of storytelling, critical skills, and collaborative engagement. Whether with kids or adults, she is applauded for her enthusiastic spirit & supportive nature. A Certified Teacher, she is deeply committed to working towards reaching curricula goals.
