The New Generation Theatre Ensemble is an ensemble training course and professionally run company. Our mission is to inspire excellence, unity and self expression through theater and theater education. At we pursue the extraordinary. At NGTE, teens and young adults attain skills and experience through rigorous training. The student-actors work in a supportive and collaborative environment where the unique voice of each student is encouraged to shine.

The company meets twice a week for 8 months and our work culminates in a full production of a brand new play that is developed throughout the year.

TRAINING: Students develop professional skills in acting, playwriting, Shakespeare, voice, movement, stage management and improvisation. The approach to Acting is a combination of Miesner technique, improvisation, as well as script analysis and scene study. We work with Playwriting, focusing on character development, story structure and the poetry of specific language (through dialogue and monologue)Voice is based in Linklater breath work, and Skinner's speech work, we also study the IPA and Dialects.Movement is work with Yoga and dance, as well as Feldenkris and Alexander techniques. Shakespeare study deals with scansion and vocal technique as well as emotion, character and performance. Those who are more interested in technical theatre are supported and given experience. Drama Therapy and Sociometry

ENSEMBLE: Building a Company through adventure, trust and a common theatrical vocabulary. The student actors work collaboratively to study and develop original work. The company becomes a creative team, a family of theatre artists.

PRODUCTION: A very important aspect of NGTE is our development and production of an original, cutting-edge play each season. We work to create plays that have educational merit and vital relevance for the community.
