Guitarist, composer and virtuoso Cuatro player, Jose Gonzalez, is one of the top performers of contemporary Latin music. Acclaimed for his original compositions featuring “the Cuatro”, (Puerto Rico’s national instrument), his eleven self-produced recordings have been featured on NBC, PBS, CNN, cable TV, as well as four “Putumayo World Music” CDs. He is also a member of Puerto Rico’s new music supergroup “Los 4 del Cuatro en Jazz” with Edwin Colon Zayas, Pedro Guzman, Quique Domenech.
Jose has performed in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Martinique, Curacao, and the U.S.A. with major Latin American artists such as Libertad Lamarque, Sandro, Braulio, as well as Puerto Rico’s top artists Danny Rivera, Andres Jimenez, Roy Brown, Lucecita, Giovanni Hidalgo, Tito Auger, Haciendo Punto en Otro Son, and El Topo.
