Pianist/composer/conductor/motivational speaker Joel A. Martin shares the trans-formative power of music-making through his registered trademark "JAZZICAL" performances incorporating classical, jazz, pop, and world music. Because of his vast experience writing for and touring with operatic legends Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman, jazz greats Cab Calloway Orchestra, Brazilian master Paul Lieberman and bassist Rufus Reid, Grammy-Award winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus, multiple Grammy/Oscar/Tony/Emmy award winning Disney composer Alan Menken, and pop sensation Fergie, Joel uses his own real life experiences to motivate and educate audiences worldwide while making music on the highest levels. Featured activities include concerts, clinics, lecture demonstrations. Most recently Joel was special guest clinician/conductor/arranger for the NYSSMA Area All-State Music, Zone 6 Festival with the Jazz Band. The explosive 2 days of workshops and final concert left students and teachers dazzled. Currently, Joel is producing an all-star tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela at Riverside Church in NYC this summer featuring 300 voice adult/children's choir, full band, narrators, video montages, and drumming/vocal groups from South Africa, Brazil, and America. Additionally he is working on producing a songbook, CD/DVD and world tour for the Green World Campaign for the planting of trees around the world. This project will pair famous singer/songwriters with well-known children's choruses from around the world.
