Q: Where do you find an easy breezy Caribe-style folkrockin' band (complete with guitar, banjo, saxophone, keyboards, drums, a whole lotta percussion including homemade rattlecaps & a conch shell!) for your wedding or patio party? Or, a passionate guitar/banjo and percussion-driven electracoustic world-beat fusion duo with a BIG sound? Or, a solo country-blues infused finger-picking multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter who serves up a musical smorgasbord spanning three centuries with a collection of homemade cigar box guitars and a suitcase drum? Or, a rootsy, gutsy, rafter-raisin' blues trio featuring inspired vocals cruisin' along with homemade cigar box guitars, electric bass and drums? A: Simply take a peek under the Tamboura Productions/Dry Ducks Records umbrella! Since 1988, Tamboura Productions has been home to Caribe-vibe folkrockers Tamboura, the electracoustic duo The Venerable TuTus, the eclectic, slightly over-the-top Trio Traumatica, blues boys the Box Elders, and guitar-slinger/songwriter/cigar box guitar maker, David Reed. David Reed is the founder and focal point of Tamboura Productions. He holds a B.Mus.Ed from the Hartt College of Music and an MA in psychology from Antioch NE Graduate School and was a founding member of New England's preeminent jam-band, Max Creek. He has taught in both public and private schools, consulted with schools, hospitals and businesses, and he has been the sole proprietor of Tamboura Productions since 1989. David is humbled and appreciative of the many fine musicians that have been - and many still are - affiliated with Tamboura Productions, including Sam Earnshaw, Mark Tuomenoksa, Mary Knysh, Dan Broad, Terry Hall, Charlie Tokarz, Steve Ide, Zack Zanecchia, John Suters, John Haddad, Scott McKenney and Conor Meehan. Several of these Tamboura Productions artists have participated in residencies and performances throughout the US, England, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria and the West Indies. Our fees, dependent upon length of performance, distance traveled and necessity of accommodations, typically begin at around $200.00 and can range up to $3000.00 depending upon size of the requested ensemble. Yet, everything's negotiable! May we come play for you?
