Dana Duren is a performance artist based out of Northampton, MA. Originally from Austin, TX, Dana attended Smith College, where she earned a B.A. in dance and anthropology. Since graduating, she has pursued dance performance, choreography, and production in the New England and NYC areas. Dana's work has been presented at the Sans Limites Movement Fest (NYC), National Water Dance 2018 (Springfield, MA), and The School for Contemporary Dance & Thought (Northampton, MA). Dana aims to create surreal, yet empathetic, performance works by combining abstract choreography with candid storytelling. Utilizing mystery, absurdity, and humor, her work often grapples with notions of effort, beauty, and performance. While Dana primarily draws on her contemporary and post-modern training to create work, she also practices and garners influence from theater, yoga, ballet, and hip hop.
