Roger Sorkin is a film producer, writer, editor, director, and founder of American Resilience Project (ARP), which creates mission-driven films designed to influence policy and culture for resolving environmental and energy challenges. ARP’s films The Burden, Tidewater, and Current Revolution (Ep. 1) have won numerous festival awards, and have been credited with helping achieve a number of policy successes. Other planned films in the Current Revolution series include Nation in Transtion, which examines the closure of coal-fired electricity generation on the Navajo Nation and across the Southwest, and how this transition can help guide other communities undertaking energy transitions; Islands of Resilience, about Hawai’i’s path to 100% renewable energy and self-sufficiency; and, The Last Mechanic, about transforming the electrical vehicle industry from the showroom floor.
