The Mount revives and expands NightWood in their second year of ethereal winter landscapes — flaming torches line the road through the wood, as music, lighting, and theatrical elements create scenes of wonder and mystery in Edith Wharton’s gardens, on the longest nights of the year.
Chris Bocchiaro of Clerestory Light, in partnership with scenic designer Megan Kinneen and sound designer and composer Greg Hanson have added to the scenes they imagined last winter, to create the woods, the eternal city (new), the courtyard, the winter garden and the lane, the glade and the conference of trees (new).
NightWood will run from Thursay to Sunday evenings, 5 to 8 p.m., from November 4 to December 31 — closed November 25 and December 24 to 25.
