Exploring Authors Book Club: Cicely Tyson
Join us at the GPL for our virtual book club “Exploring Authors” on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm. We are currently exploring nonfiction writers; this month’s selection is Just As I Am, by Cicely Tyson.
Cicely Tyson was one of the most respected talents in American theater and film history, and her work garnered critical acclaim for over sixty years. In Just As I Am, Tyson recalls her extraordinary life, as well as the racial and gender stereotyping, movie-business prejudice, and ill-behaved men that shaped her career.
